About High Resonance and Illumination
I have always had a burning passion for music. From a very early age, spending every Sunday night recording the top 40, back in the days when it was on radio 1 only, then editing it and producing my own top 40 radio show for my family to enjoy.
By the age of 16 I had brought my first pair of record decks, building up a small collection of records; this is where over the next few years I learnt the art of mixing vinyl in my bedroom. I then progressed to a small mobile disco set-up playing at family and friends’ parties, while learning the art of reading the dance floor and judging the mood as to which genre of music would fill the dance floor the most, by working my way through the decades, without losing the pulsing full dance floor.
By my late teens I was confident enough to venture out locally with my mobile set-up and DJ at birthday parties and wedding receptions.
It was by working in local venues when I was approached by a club promoter; this introduced me to the fascinating world of the club DJ.
I was lucky enough to play at a number of clubs across the country for 3 to 4 years. Although I enjoyed working in clubs, I was not finding it challenging enough. It was then, purely by fluke, in my mid twenty’s I was asked to DJ at a friend’s sister’s wedding.
It was visiting the bride and groom several times before their wedding day that I realised this is where my passion and heart truly lay. I loved the part of getting to know the client and turning their ideas of a dream wedding reception into a tangible reality.
It was at this point, back in early 2002 when I returned to mobile discos.
The variety of functions and different people that I meet along the way keeps me fresh and up to date. I play a varied collection of chosen music to accommodate each occasion and through my knowledge and experience, along with positive input from all my customers over the past 15 years of being a mobile DJ. This has made my knowledge vast, varied and inexhaustible. I have a vast collection of music, going back to 1940, right up to the present day.
